South Bernal Heights is one of San Francisco's most diverse neighborhoods and contains a wealth of natural resources. The South Bernal Heights Living Library & Think Park Master Plan, developed with the support of the Mayor's Office of Community Development, calls for the creation of A Living Library Nature Walk through the neighborhood that will link the three existing Living Library Gardens at Junipero Serra Child Development Center (funded by the Department of Children, Youth, and Their Families) with College Hill Reservoir, several streets, Holly Park and St. Mary's Park, all to connect with the Islais Creek. This area is part of the same watershed as the OMI/Excelsior Living Library & Think Park which also links with the Islais Creek.

Bernal Heights residents, teachers, students and community leaders have been engaged in a Community Planning Process to bring the South Bernal Heights Living Library & Think Park to life.
