Framework<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0and develop a <\/span><em style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Master Plan<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">for the 13 acre <\/span><em style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Southpoint<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\"> open space directly across the East River from the United Nations. \u00a0The <\/span><em style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Conceptual<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Plan<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0called for diverse features with integrated community programs and education opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/masterplan-and-rendering.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5449\" alt=\"masterplan and rendering\" src=\"https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/masterplan-and-rendering-1024x343.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"301\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/masterplan-and-rendering-1024x343.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/masterplan-and-rendering-250x83.jpg 250w, https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/masterplan-and-rendering.jpg 1265w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to this Master Planning Process, the community wanted to begin a hands-on, <b><i>Roosevelt Island Living Library Garden \/ Ecology \/ Multi-Arts \/ Nutrition \/ Literacy <\/i><\/b>transformation program. Thus, the <a href=\"https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/category\/roosevelt-island\" target=\"_blank\"><b><i>Roosevelt Island Living Library &amp; Think Park <\/i><\/b><\/a>was begun at PS\/IS 217, greening the campus of the school and bordering streets.
