We\u2019re excited to invite you to join us on May 15, 11 am \u2013 4 pm for the First Annual<\/i><\/b> <\/i>Roosevelt Island Living Library & Think Park\u2019s Plant Sale Fundraiser<\/i> <\/b>to be <\/b>held in the beautiful, RI Living Library & Think Park Gardens<\/i><\/b>. <\/b>All proceeds will support the sustainability and growth of these lush and healthy Gardens.<\/i><\/p>\n

The RI Living Library & Think Park Gardens<\/i> serve as a thriving and healthy, hands-on ecological learning hub for youth and adults to explore and learn about nature, and work with soil and plants, so they grow and thrive in an urban setting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bonnie Ora Sherk,<\/b> Founder & Director of A Living Library,<\/i> <\/b>and its nonprofit sponsor, Life Frames, Inc.<\/i><\/b>,<\/i> has been working together with the Roosevelt Island community since 2001. She has\u00a0 <\/span>been joined by China Bushell<\/b>, who is working with the community in transforming the R.I. Living Library & Think Park Gardens <\/i>into the ecological artwork we see today, and teaching all ages about plants, gardening, and all things natural, including healthy eating and cooking.<\/p>\n

Join Us on May 15<\/b><\/span>, and have your pick from a wide array of fresh vegetables, <\/b>including broccoli, cabbage, peppers, okra, tomatoes, and eggplant; herbs<\/b>: basil, dill, and fennel; and medicinal flowers,<\/b> like <\/b>African Marigolds, Salvia, and Snapdragon and Bee Balm.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will be cash only with the cost of plants ranging from $2.50 – $3.50 with free seeds offered every hour! Come see how environmental education, urban agriculture and sustainable, ecological development helps revitalize Roosevelt Island, and other communities \u2013 locally and globally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
