Wonderful Volunteer Groups<\/strong><\/em> have been helping to develop the Bernal Heights Living Library & Think Park Nature Walk<\/strong><\/em> through planting events at St. Mary’s Park<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

This Nature Walk<\/strong> <\/em>is linking schools, parks, public housing, streets, and other open spaces leading to the currently hidden Islais Creek<\/em><\/strong> at the south side of St. Mary’s Park.\u00a0 The Nature Walk<\/em> is a prototype for what could be connecting communities in the whole Islais Creek Watershed<\/strong><\/em>, the largest in San Francisco, that interlinks eleven neighborhoods:\u00a0 Noe Valley, Mission, Bernal Heights, Potrero Hill, Bayview, Portola, Crocker-Amazon, Excelsior, OMI, Sunnyside, Glen Park.<\/p>\n

One Brick<\/a><\/strong><\/em> worked with Life Frames, Inc.<\/strong><\/em> and SF Recreation & Park Department<\/strong><\/em> on October 19th, to plant California native understory plants along the soccer path in St. Mary’s Park.\u00a0 It looks fantastic now !<\/p>\n

On November 22, City College of San Francisco Honor Society Members<\/i><\/b> planted an array of California natives on the hillside adjacent to St. Mary’s Recreation Center, as part of the emerging, Bernal Heights Living Library Nature Walk.\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Space by space, a new, narrative, expressive landscape is growing, and becoming a visible series of connected places !!!<\/p>\n
