Two Volunteer Groups from Salesforce<\/strong><\/em> led by Jillian West<\/strong><\/em> and Dennis Won<\/strong><\/em>, joined\u00a0Life Frames, Inc., Bonnie Ora Sherk,<\/strong><\/em> and\u00a0SF Recreation & Park Department\u00a0<\/strong>in\u00a0Holly Park <\/strong><\/em>on May 2 and May 7, respectively, to prepare new planting beds, and plant California natives\u00a0in\u00a0Holly Park<\/em>, as part of the\u00a0Bernal Heights Living Library & Think Park Nature Walk.<\/i><\/b>\u00a0 Volunteers helped tremendously in developing the new native landscapes in the Park<\/em>, and the Living Library Nature Walk<\/i>\u00a0<\/b>is growing and blooming with gorgeous colors !<\/p>\n

Volunteers planted all California Natives: Lavatera, Mimulus (Sticky Monkey), Yarrow, Douglas Iris, Penstemon, Romnya coulteri (Matilja Poppy), and other colorful natives.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Bernal Heights Living Library<\/strong> & Think Park<\/strong> Nature Walk<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>links schools, parks, public housing, streets, and other open spaces leading to the currently hidden\u00a0Islais Creek<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at the south side of St. Mary\u2019s Park.\u00a0 The\u00a0Nature Walk<\/em>\u00a0is creating a new, expressive,\u00a0 narrative landscape that is a prototype for what could be occurring throughout the whole\u00a0Islais Creek Watershed<\/strong><\/em>, the largest in San Francisco, that interlinks eleven neighborhoods:\u00a0 Noe Valley, Mission, Bernal Heights, Potrero Hill, Bayview, Portola, Crocker-Amazon, Excelsior, OMI, Sunnyside, Glen Park.<\/p>\n
