{"id":6132,"date":"2015-02-09T12:19:02","date_gmt":"2015-02-09T20:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/?p=6132"},"modified":"2015-02-09T15:38:12","modified_gmt":"2015-02-09T23:38:12","slug":"fantastic-salesforce-volunteer-group-grows-living-library-nature-walk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/bernal-heights-living-library-nature-walk\/fantastic-salesforce-volunteer-group-grows-living-library-nature-walk","title":{"rendered":"Another Fantastic Salesforce Volunteer Group Grows A Living Library Nature Walk !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Helen Chan<\/strong> led another fantastic <strong>Salesforce<\/strong> Volunteer Event on December 17 in <strong>St. Mary&#8217;s Park<\/strong> planting California Native Understory Plants in the <em>Oak Allee<\/em>, adding beauty and health to the <strong>Bernal Heights Living Library &amp; Think Park Nature Walk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/bernal-heights-living-library-nature-walk\/fantastic-salesforce-volunteer-group-grows-living-library-nature-walk\/attachment\/img_7955_fotor_collage_fotor__1423168042_73-15-149-33-2\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6136\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/alivinglibrary.org\/archive-site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_7955_Fotor_Collage_Fotor__1423168042_73.15.149.331.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7955_Foto&lt;em&gt;r_Collage_Fotor__1423168042_73.15.149.33\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This planting was accomplished in conjunction with <strong><em>Bonnie Ora Sherk<\/em>, <\/strong>Founder &amp; Director<strong>, <strong>Life Frames, Inc<\/strong><em>. <\/em><\/strong>and <em><em>A Living Library Nature Walk<\/em><\/em><strong><em>, <\/em><\/strong>and<strong><em> <strong>John Miller<\/strong><\/em>, <\/strong>Park Supervisor,<strong> SF Recreation &amp; Park Department.<\/strong> This <em>Living Library Nature Walk<\/em> is linking multiple parks, schools, public housing, and streets, leading to currently hidden <em>Islais Creek<\/em> at the south side of <em>St. Mary&#8217;s Park<\/em>, near <em>Highway 280<\/em> in San Francisco. The <em>Nature Walk <\/em>is a prototype for what can be occurring throughout the whole <strong>Islais Creek Watershed<\/strong>, the largest in SF that interlinks eleven communities in southeast and southwest SF, through creating a new, narrative native landscape interconnecting diverse community assets and resources, framed by the <em>Watershed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Also, proposed is development of <em><strong>Northern &amp; Southern Gateways to the Watershed<\/strong><\/em>, that would incorporate the currently derelict 101 Freeway Interchanges at <em>Chavez\/Potrero\/Bayshore (to become Northern Gateway)<\/em> and <em>Alemany\/Industrial Way\/Bayshore (to become Southern Gateway)<\/em>.\u00a0 More about this exciting opportunity later.
