To cope up with increasing human population, forests are being cut down to expand cities and towns, or to burn as firewood for cooking.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The list of endangered and threatened species is increasing at an alarming rate and only our collective effort can save them from extinction.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Though urban and industrial activities are to be blamed for depleting forests and biodiversity, interestingly enough, our cities can contribute in conserving plant and animal populations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Developing ecological landscapes with native plants can help create natural habitat for various species and address dire issues of climate change, even in large cities and towns.
