Public Talk on A Living Library  

After a very successful opening of A Living Library Is Cultivating The Human & Ecological Garden at Parco Arte Vivente in Turin, Italy, as part of the International Exhibition, The God-Trick, the next stop was Zurich, Switzerland. Bonnie Ora Sherk was invited to give a Public Talk to introduce the concept of A Living Library to an audience of diverse residents, including artists, architects, landscape architects, educators, and representatives from public agencies.  During her presentation on May 07 at Kulturfolger, a non-profit art space in Zurich, she shared her vision to create International Branch Living Libraries & Think Parks , globally, and she spoke of the idea of developing a unique Zurich Branch Living Library & Think Park over time to involve diverse sectors of the community in the process. People were enthused and want her to come back !

Torino, Italia – A Living Library at Parco Arte Vivente: Exploring Through Exhibition, People, Public Talk, Food

A Living Library Is Cultivating The Human & Ecological Garden - Bonnie Ora Sherk's new installation on A Living Library is now open at Parco Arte Vivente (PAV), and will continue through October 21, 2018. As one of the invited international artists in the exhibition, The God-Trick, curated by Marco Scotini, and one of the speakers at the International Conference "Anthropocene, Ecological Crisis and Transformative Potential of Art”, she travelled to Torino, Italia last month. Below are a few images from her stay and travel in the city while enjoying the hospitality, warmth, and love of the people around.

A Living Library Is Cultivating The Human & Ecological Garden – Bonnie Ora Sherk’s New Environmental Performance Installation at Parco Arte Vivente, Torino, Italia

A Living Library installation at PAV, Turin

A new installation on A Living Library by Bonnie Ora Sherk is now open at Parco Arte Vivente (PAV) in Torino, Italia and will continue through October 21, 2018 ! Please come and see it ! 

This environmental installation, A Living Library Is Cultivating The Human & Ecological Gardenacknowledges the polar directions, is filled with bird communications, and engages spectators who become participants, while showcasing A Living Library, or A.L.L., in multiple landscape colors.

A.L.L. is a planetary genre of place-based, ecological, community transformations with systemically integrated, hands-on learning by doing for all ages, meant to be developed throughout the world, interconnected through Green-Powered Digital Gateways.

Bonnie Ora Sherk & A Living Library Traveling To Parco Arte Vivente In Turin, Italia

Parco Arte ViventePlease join Bonnie Ora Sherk at Parco Arte Vivente in Turin, Italia for the Opening on May 4, 2018 of A Living Library Is Cultivating The Human & Ecological Garden, curated by Marco Scotini as part of the Exhibition, Trucco di Dio - The God Trick that is also celebrating PAV’s Ten Year Anniversary. 

This Group Exhibition will open in parallel with an important International Conference on the Anthropocene, Climate Change and Related Ecological Issues which begins in the afternoon of May 4 through Saturday, May 5 ending with Bonnie Ora's Public Talk on A Living Library at 6 pm. 

On May 7, 2018, she will be giving another Public Talk on A Living Library at 8 pm at Kulturfolger, Zurich.

Bonnie Ora Sherk & A Living Library Featured In “Discover Your Watershed” Video Series Produced By San Francisco Public Utilities Commission

How much do you know about your Watershed? San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, in partnership with BAYCAT, a nonprofit enterprise, has produced a video series featuring 12 local storytellers who share their stories about San Francisco's eight Watersheds.

As one of the presenters, Bonnie Ora Sherk talks about Islais Creek Watershed, the largest in San Francisco interconnecting eleven communities, and her evolutionary work around the Watershed - transforming barren, sterile concrete stretches into beautiful California Native Learning Zones and Rain Gardens while conserving fresh water and utilizing it in a productive way. She also stresses on the importance and value of Watershed as a way to frame life as well as to understand interconnected systems. Here is the link to her video.

The "Discover Your Watershed" video stories will be premiered on May 09, 2018 from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the lobby of Koret Auditorium at San Francisco Public Library. Register for the event to learn more about the history of the city's Watersheds.
