There is a lot of work involved in making A Living Library & Think Park bloom – planting seeds, weeding, mulching, composting, staking, watering. But the efforts are worthy when flowers, fruit, herbs and vegetables are ready to harvest. Nature rewards us with her bountiful magic that also helps us address issues of climate change and urban revitalization. As summer passes, please enjoy some pictures of the lush, gorgeous and ecological, Roosevelt Island Living Library & Think Park Gardens.
After working in the Living Library Gardens, it is time to catch up and enjoy a celebratory drink ! See below from left: Bonnie Ora Sherk, Anna Tang, China Bushell, Pushpanjali Roy, Sherie Helstein, and Lydia Tang at Nisi, Roosevelt Island. Missing from this picture but sitting nearby, is our friend and colleague, Wendy Hersh, President of the RI Disabled Association.
The Roosevelt Island Living Library & Think Park is a great example of multi-cultural and multi-generational community engagement and participation. Stay tuned for more updates !
